I'm Going to Put You in A Pot

All the time I tease Arden that I am going to put her in a pot and cook her because she's so sweet.

The other day my stock pot was sitting on the stove so I picked her up and put her in the pot. She was laughing so hard. She enjoyed every minute of it. I couldn't believe she fit.

Now anytime she sees the pot on the stove she'll ask me to put her in the pot and cook her for dinner.

Tucking George In

Arden loves to tuck her babies in. Lately, she's been tucking George into bed. The other night I caught her reading to him.

Happy Birthday PawPaw

Today is my Dad's birthday. He is the best father a girl could ask for. He's always been there for me and I don't know what I would do without him. He taught me well and I know that he loves me.

I hope his day was fantastic.

Gardening

Arden really gets into helping her Daddy with everything. She really likes helping him outside. She has her own shovel and she wants a rake. The other day they were planting flowers out front.

She's discovered Rolly-Polly bugs. She wants one for a pet. She lost about 5 of them this afternoon but she's not afraid to pick them up. She loves it when they roll up. Ah...the life of a three year old.

Question of the Week

Guess were we went today?

It begins with a p and ends with an ool. Welcome back summer. We've missed you.

Getting

Thomas has found a new place to read. He gets nice and comfortable and will stay there as long as I let him.

Question of the Week

Do you think he likes getting his hair cut?

Scarry Faces

Arden loves to make scary faces. She mostly wrinkles up her nose and smiles but we pretend she's really scary.

We had fun making scary faces together.

Mother's Day Pics

As we left for church on Mother's Day the kids posed for some pictures with me.

Overheard

While shopping at the grocery store we pass by the seafood section:

Arden: "Mommy, you don't ever have to buy fish because Jesus gives fish to whoever wants it. He has plenty and gives it to those who don't have a lunch."

Um, Um Good!

Thomas recently decided that his food is better smashed and of course this is after he's pulled off his bib. It makes a huge mess but he is happy. I am working on trying to keep him from mashing his food but he just laughs. Ah...the joy of boys.

Wordless Wednesdays

She's Gone Country

Arden loves guitars. Neither Dave and I have any musical skill but she is still fanascated with guitars and violins.

A few weeks ago when Dave was in Texas for business he picked her up a little guitar. She's entertaining us all the time. She also knows to keep it out of the reach of Thomas.

According to her I don't play it right and she's the only one who knows how to use it right.

14 Months

Today Thomas turns 14 months old today. I can't believe two months has already passed since his birthday. This past month has been so much fun with Thomas. He officially started walking and is starting to become very animated.

Here are a few things that he can do:

Walk

Climb up pretty much anything

Blow on his food (which is adorable)

Dances

7 words

Push his cart away from him and then goes and gets it

Throws his ball and chases it

Happy Mother's Day

Back in March Arden's school had a special day for mom called Muffin's for Moms. They had a special song for Moms that they practiced the week before. Arden would sing it too me in the car and she still sings it from time to time.

I thought it would be perfect to share on Mother's Day.

The Mom Song

Give me and M, Give me and O, Give me an M

If you have a stroller but your still a rockin' roller

You're a mom
If your tired of doing dishes and passin' out gold fishes
You're a mom
If you have a lot of fun but your work is never done
You're a mom
You're the boss, the driver, the ultimate survivor, the doctor, the cooker, your man thinks your a looker
You're a mom
If you work all day but you never get paid
You're a mom
If you need a sick day but instead your gonna play
You're a mom
If your first occupation sounds like a sweet vacation
You're a mom
If you living room floor look like a toy store
You're a mom
Give me an M, Give me an O, Give me an M
What's that spell....Mom
If you love your mom let me hear you say ooh ooh
If you mean the whole world to a little boy and girl
You're a mom
That BIBLE that you hold can shape that little soul
You're a mom
If you have the most important job in the world you're a mom
You're a Mom.

Arden's favorite two lines to sing to me are:

You're the boss, the driver, the ultimate survivor, the doctor, the cooker, your man thinks you're a looker. You're a mom.

If you work all day but you never get paid. You're a mom.

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

I'm Still Here

Lately, most of the post have been about Thomas. He's had some major milestones lately. But not to worry Arden's still here and as beautiful as ever.

Overheard

Me: "Arden you must eat more than bread for dinner."

Arden: "Why?"

Me: "Because I would be a bad mother if I only gave you bread for dinner."

Arden: "That's ok. I don't mind if your a bad mother tonight."

Weekend Round-Up.

We had such a great weekend. Friday night I actually went out with some of the ladies I work with and we had such a great time.

Saturday was perfect, the weather was warm but not too hot. We spent most of the day outside. Arden and Dave did some work in the yard while Thomas and I took a walk through the neighborhood.

Sunday we had a great morning at church. Thomas was able to move up to the toddler room because he's now a walker. He loved it. He walked around the room playing with all of the toys but we were told he really enjoyed snack time. I'm sure he did.

At church friends of ours gave us tickets to the Quail Hollow Championship so that afternoon we loaded up the jog stroller and headed out to watch some golf. Dave and Arden went last year and had a blast and this year was no different. Arden was a pro and told me all that I needed to know about golf. We found a great spot under a tree near the 18th hole and watched the finals. We had a great time. The kids did great. There was enough green for them to play and run around. Unfortunately we couldn't take our cameras so there are no pictures of this great day but that's OK because we had a blast.
